The Brief:
SeaWorld Yas Island Abu Dhabi wanted to encourage children to see the ocean as more than its surface and inspire a deeper appreciation for marine life and conservation.
The Insight:
Children often think of the sea as something they see from above. When asked to draw it, most illustrated waves, boats and the horizon, revealing how little they knew about the rich ecosystems beneath the surface.
Creative Response:
We turned that observation into a simple social experiment.
Children were first asked to draw the sea from memory. They were then immersed in the underwater world at SeaWorld Yas Island Abu Dhabi before being invited to draw the sea again.
The contrast between the two drawings became the story. Their second illustrations were richer, more detailed and filled with marine life, demonstrating how curiosity and education can change the way children see the natural world.
